
CARDIOVASCULAR BASIC STUDIES / NONINVASIVE CARDIOVASCULAR TECHNICIAN
Cardiovascular Technicians work in a noninvasive capacity to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating heart (cardiac) and blood vessel (peripheral vascular) ailments or diseases. A Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) or Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technician (sometimes called a cardio tech), trained at Central Florida Institute (CFI) may specialize in electrocardiograms (EKGs), Holter monitors, and stress testing. Sometimes a Cardiovascular Technician is referred to as a cardiographic or EKG technician.

The Department of Labor points out that healthcare employers prefer trained personnel, therefore, the job prospects should be best for Cardiovascular Technicians with formal training such as that offered at Central Florida Institute. Cardiovascular Technician Graduates may obtain the following national credentials by passing the corresponding certification examination:
- (CCT) - *Certified Cardiographic Technician through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- (NCET) - National Certified ECG Technician through National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
