MEDICAL ASSISTANT / X-RAY

CFI has enhanced the X-Ray portion in the MA training!  This extended training prepares the graduate to sit for the BXMO certification - the Florida State Basic X-Ray Machine Operator license.  An MA with a BXMO license has a greater earning potential, as well as increased career and employment opportunities.

The Department of Labor publication, Occupational Outlook Handbook, projects that Medical Assistant / X-Ray will be the fastest growing occupation over the next ten years. The Medical Assistant / X-Ray is becoming more necessary since modern technology and medical treatments are resulting in patients opting to have their medical needs taken care of in doctors’ offices and clinics rather than in hospitals. Medical Assistant / X-Ray graduates work more with patients who are ambulatory (able to walk in and out on their own), rather than with patients lying in hospital beds.

Employment of Medical Assistant / X-Ray graduates is expected to grow much faster than all other occupations through the year 2012 as the healthcare field expands because  of an aging and growing population, and the technological advances in medicine that lead to a greater life expectancy. Fast employment growth for Medical Assistant / X-Ray graduates will be the result of a rapidly growing healthcare industry.

Our programs attract a diverse range of students.

"I was 20, about four months pregnant with my third child working at McDonald's, when I decided to enroll at CFI.  That was one of the smartest decisions I made in my life so far!  I'm working as an MA/CRC for a great doctor for over 21/2 years now."

Tiffany R.
Medical Assistant Graduate

"I have been with UCH-Occupational Clinic for over one year now and love my job very much.  My employer has been so please with my skills, that they made arrangements for their sister hospital, Suncoast Hospital to hire me on in the same capacity...another bonus has come by way of a recent affiliation that UCH has made with a local community college.  Current employees that have completed their prerequisites for the RN program have been accepted to begin their clinicals this May.  I am one of these employees and I can say it all started with the MA program!  A very special, Thank You, to all the teachers that made it possible to get where I am today!"

Odalys M.
Medical Assistant graduate

"I love my job and am grateful for the skills I learned at CFI!"

Anne B.
Medical Assistant graduate

"I would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at CFI.  Without all your help and support I wouldn't be where I am today.  I have an awesome job as a Medical Assistant in a very nice office...I am so glad I had instructors that were so well trained and that really knew the field, as it prepared me for the reality of life after extern."

Rebecca P.
Medical Assistant graduate

"Just wanted to say thank you to CFI, because two and a half years after graduating from your school as an MA and getting my basic x-ray license, I am now managing a clinic in occupational health. I am very grateful for the education that allowed me to come so far so quickly. A big hug to all the instructors and staff!"

Tamera (Tami) R.
Medical Assistant graduate

"I wasn't sure if going back to school 2 weeks after my 2nd daughter was born was such a good idea, but I knew I had to do something.  It was the best decision of my life!  And I am so glad that I chose CFI!  The teachers were so wonderful and they made the curriculum so easy to understand.  I love the job that I have now...and they love me, too!!  I have been able to utilize a majority of my skills that I learned at CFI.  Thank you CFI for everything you've done for not only me, but for the future of my family!"

Melissa G.
Medical Assistant graduate

"I was immediately hired after my externship was completed in January of 2005.  I have gained a great deal of experience in a very short period of time as an MA.  The curriculum at CFI was more than adequate to prepare me for a career as an MA and the nationally recognized RMA credential.  I recently aced the RMA test and could not have done it without the outstanding education I received at CFI.  Thanks to all my incredibly dedicated instructors at CFI!"

Steve S.
Medical Assistant graduate

"I love being a CMA! Thanks to CFI, I am a highly skilled CMA! My physicians say that they wish more students from CFI were here...MA's from other schools can't compare to the skills that I learned from CFI!! Thanks again to all my instructors...without them I would not be a highly skilled CMA."

Nanci W., CMA

"My job was so impressed with all of my skills!"

Stacie P., CNA/MA
