CFI Palm Harbor Graduates largest class to date

On Saturday September 12, 2009, Central Florida Institute, Inc. of Palm Harbor graduated their largest class to date. CFI saw 244 students graduate in the following specialties.

82 students graduating with a Medical Assistant Diploma
49 graduating with a Cardiovascular Technician Diploma
24 students graduating with a Dental Assistant Diploma
15 Graduates received an Advanced Cardiovascular Technologist Applied Science Associate Degree
28 students with a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Applied Science Associate Degree
13 students Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist Applied Science Associate Degree
13 students Polysomnographic Technologist Applied Science Associate Degree

The theme of the graduating ceremony was "The Power of the Dream." Janice Brand, DDS made remarks to the graduating class.

TAMPA, Florida (September 25, 2009) – The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) was pleased to award initial accreditation to the diagnostic medical sonography program (general concentration) to Central Florida Institute, Inc. of Palm Harbor, FL and Orlando, FL.

The recent peer review conducted by the Joint Review Committee in Education on Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) and CAAHEP’s Board of Directors recognized the program’s substantial compliance with the nationally established accreditation standards.

The accreditation standards are established by CAAHEP and the American College of Cardiology, American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, American College of Radiology, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, American Society of Echocardiography, American Society of Radiologic Technologists, Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Society for Vascular Surgery, and the Society for Vascular Ultrasound.

The commission commended CFI for its commitment to continuous quality improvement in education, as demonstrated by participation in program accreditation.

TAMPA, FL [JULY 28, 2009]: Senate Bill 606 was signed into law by Governor Crist on June 16th, 2009 allowing students to use the Florida Prepaid College Program at accredited independent educational facilities such as Central Florida Institute, Inc. (CFI). Institutions accredited by an accrediting agency that is recognized by the USDOE for participation in Title IV programs (Pell Grants and guaranteed student loans), are eligible to receive payments from the Florida Prepaid College Plan for any students that are enrolled and are beneficiaries of a Florida Prepaid College Plan contract. Central Florida Institute, Inc. provides hands‐on training in the medical and dental fields with employment‐focused education. CFI offers nationally accredited, flexible training in high growth medical and dental careers within a comfortable, professional setting. Central Florida Institute, Inc. of Orlando, FL graduates 75 students in front of local dignitaries and a crowd of over 450 people

ORLANDO, Florida (September 23, 2009) - Central Florida Institute, Inc. of Orlando, Florida is pleased to announce the graduation of 75 of its students on July 24, 2009, in the Medical Assistant with Basic X-Ray, Medical Assistant with Cardiovascular Technology and Dental Assistant programs. Over 450 people attended the event along with Representative Geraldine Thompson and Scott Hazelbaker of the Parrish Medical Center.

Representative Geraldine Thompson addressed the graduates telling them that “The Best is yet to Come” and to “Continue to dream: everything you see began with a dream.” Representative Thompson was a teacher, historian, author and politician before beginning service in November 2006 to the constituents of District 39 in Orlando, FL as the first African American female to represent Orange County in the Florida House of Representatives.

Representative Bryan Nelson, Florida House District 38, provided each graduate with a Citation of Recognition and sent a letter that was read at the ceremony. Scott Hazelbaker of Parrish Medical Center and Representative Geraldine Thompson were both awarded the CFI Community Service Award.
